I own an '89 Mustang GT that was in my parents’ garage on the night of September 13, 2008 – the same night Hurricane Ike sent a 20-foot tidal surge from the Gulf of Mexico into Bridge City, Texas flooding approximately 3,500 homes. My car was underwater for a few days, then was towed and left outside for months.

Finally, I bought an '84 Mustang SVO restoration project car and wanted another OPTIMA RedTop battery. I took the old one out of the '89 and back to the O'Reilly Auto Parts store from which it was purchased. The store policy was to charge the batteries for 24 hours to see if it would hold a charge before they would replace it. The battery voltage was so low that I could not charge it on my small home charger. To make a long story short, I went in the next day and it was back up to full charge.
